Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin

Social distancing has stopped all of our normal activities including circulating nomination papers. 

We need YOUR  help.  All it takes is a few minutes, a printer and a stamped envelope. 

Five easy steps and you will help put DEMOCRATS on the BALLOT!

1. Check your District

To sign nomination papers, you need to reside in the district of the candidates that you sign for.  

You can find all your districts by going to myvote.wi.gov and click on my voter information.  Most voters in Fond du lac County will qualify for 3 candidates.  The exceptions will be people living in the eastern and southern parts of the county.  We do not have candidates running in those areas.  Check your districts.  

2. Pick Your Candidates

US Congress - 6th CD

All of FDL county is in the 6th Congressional District.  We have 4 candidates running for this seat (the primary in August will decide who is on the ballot in November) 

You need to pick one to support with nomination papers. 

 

Wisconsin Senate

We have two Senate candidates for districts in FDL county.  If you live in the city of Ripon, you are in district 14.  If you live in the city of FDL, you are in the 18th district.  

Also towns of FDL, Byron, Empire, Taycheedah, Calumet and Oakfield.  


Wisconsin Assembly

We have two Assembly candidates for districts in FDL county.  If you live in the city of Ripon, you are in Assembly district 41.  If you live in the city of FDL, you are in the 52nd Assembly district.  

Also towns of FDL, Byron, Empire, Taycheedah, Calument and Oakfield.  


Everyone in Fond du Lac County can sign papers for the US Congress.  Please do this one.  

These candidates need over 1000 signatures, the most of any office.

There are four candidates for the US Congress 6th Congressional seat. All of Fond du lac County is in the 6th Congressional district.

Because there are four, only one will be selected in the August primary to go up against the Republican incumbent.

There are single candidates for the State Senate and Assembly. 

If you are in the 41st Assembly district, you are also in the 14th Senate district.  This is the city of Ripon. 

If you are in the 52nd Assembly district, you are also in the 18th Senate district.  This is the city of Fond du Lac and the towns of Fond du lac, Empire, Oakfield, Byron and Taycheedah.

A.  US Congress 6th Congressional District.

B.  If you are in State Assembly district 52, you are also in State Senate district 18 and you can sign both papers.

4. Sign Your Nomination Papers

Here are step by step directions for filling out the nomination papers.   

Please read them carefully.  If you have any questions, please email or call us.

● Step 1: Sign your first and last name in the column marked “Signature of Electors”

● Step 2: Print your first and last name in the column marked “Printed Name of Electors”.

● Step 3: Print out your full residential number and street in the column marked “Residential
Address”. PO boxes are not an acceptable form of address. If your home address is a fire number however, that is sufficient.

● Step 4: Under the box labeled “Municipality of Residence”, print both the name of your municipality and the Zip Code.  Also, please fill out the corresponding
box indicating if your municipality is a city, a village, or a township.

● Step 5: Fill in the box labeled “Date of Signing” with the EXACT date you signed the nomination form.

If there are multiple people in your household, each one of you can fill out one of the rows.  After you are all done, one of you will be the circulator and fill out the info at the bottom of the form given in steps 6 and 7. 

● Step 6: Near the bottom of the form underneath the heading “Certification of Circulator”, please re-print both your name and your full address (Number, Street, Municipality, and Zip Code)

● Step 7: At the very bottom of the page, properly certify the nomination form by both dating and re-signing the paper

Please Note! The date that you sign at the bottom of the page MUST NOT be prior to any noted signature listed above.

For example, if “John Smith” signs in row one on April 18th, 2020, the certification date mus be April 18th or later.

Any further signatures that occur at a noted date later than the certification will be deemed invalid by the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

5. Mail the Papers

We would appreciate an email (fdldemsnews@gmail.com) from you so we can be on the watch for your papers to arrive. 

We will also email you back and let you know that your mail arrived and that everything is filled out correctly. 

Please mail your nomination papers to us by May 12th.

You are also ready to VOTE! These are the candidates that will be on the ballot. The next election is the primary on August 11th. Now is a good time to sign up for an absentee ballot. You can do that online. Click on the button below.
